This time of year lends itself well to introspection, don't you think? I seem to find myself in an introspective mood about this time, every year.
The past several years I have chosen a "word of the year" to reflect upon, to use as inspiration to make changes in my life, throughout the year.
In 2014, that word was "health."
My word for 2015 has been "heal."
A couple nights ago, the kids and I watched the movie, War Room. That is a powerful movie, by the creators of Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. If you haven't seen War Room yet, I encourage you to do so. I think it's the most powerful movie they've done yet.
Watching War Room impressed upon me my Word for 2016: Pray.
My plan is to become more intentional in my prayer life. I'd like to set aside my own "war room," but it may be that I just have to designate a spot in my bedroom for my prayer space. I plan to encourage my children to do the same thing.
May each one of us become more intentional in our prayer lives throughout 2016...because we can see by the signs all around us, that it isn't long until Jesus returns. Let's all strive to follow the Lord more closely during 2016, and do our best to be prepared for His soon return.
Happy New Year!

A deepened prayer life is on my list for 2016 as well! And I keep hearing that War Room is an awesome movie. I should take the time to watch it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, Tim. Yes, you should take time to see War Room. It'd be a great way to jump-start your prayer life for 2016.
DeleteGreat word choices! I'm still thinking and praying about a word for 2016. I can hardly remember my words from previous years, though, so perhaps that's not the best goal setting strategy for me. ;)
ReplyDeleteCristi, the only way I remember my previous words is from my graphics! I can't remember the words I chose before these! LOL
DeleteI told myself the same thing Cristi, I decided not to choose a word for this year because I couldn't remember my word for the previous 2 years :-(
DeleteIt will be interesting to read at the end of the year all your answered prayers! With that as your focus, I am sure there will be many to remember!
