Blogging Through the Alphabet: V, part 2

The next day, we planned to go to Ha Ha Tonka State Park on our way to the condo up by the lake. When I saw the sign that we were only 19 miles from Mansfield, Missouri, I asked hubby if we could go there, so I could see the Laura Ingalls Wilder home and museum there. He agreed, perhaps somewhat reluctantly...

Since it was Sunday, the place was closed. And this is all I was able to see...but it was enough for me! At least I can say I've been there, since I've wanted to see it since I was probably at least Botanist Boy's age! ;-)

After we left there, and were headed again for the state park, we saw a sign, "Bakerville Pioneer Village"...so off we went on another detour! ;-)

After a fun time exploring the village, and taking photos of the flowers in the flower garden, etc., we got back on the road again for the state park. This time we made it to the park!

The park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. You can read more about the Ha Ha Tonka history. Pin It Now!
