The space shuttle Discovery

The space shuttle has made another safe landing, after another successful mission. Living here in Florida is kind of exciting, for such things.

We can actually see the space shuttle take off--or at least the jet stream it leaves behind. And I wish we had seen when the Discovery went up this last time, since it was at night. But we didn't.

Today, though, when we knew it was about time for it to land, I said to the kids, "Let's go see if we can hear the sonic boom!"

So we were standing out in the yard, when my folks arrived home, and we waited only about a minute, when all of a sudden "BOOM!" We could even feel it!! It was awesome!
