Surprise!

Last February, the Botanist Boy purchased two Rhode Island Red chicks with his own money. He's been waiting, eagerly, for their first eggs. Today, he received his reward!

Now we are anxiously awaiting the first eggs from the chickens that hatched from the eggs we incubated!

At least two of those chicks, though, are young roosters, including the one I call Calico! Young roosters sound rather humorous when they are learning to crow! ;-)
