How We Record Our Homeschooling Adventures at Rossmont

It's been awhile since I participated in the Blog Cruise. Some of them, I really didn't have experience or information pertinent to the topic. Most of the time, I just plain forgot! :p

This week the topic is: What are your favorite record keeping tips?

I'm not sure I really have many tips; I'll just share what we do for "record keeping" here.

Fortunately, our state regulations don't require record keeping, portfolios, or anything like that. But just in case, I do tend to record attendance, and "grades".

We do quite a bit of lapbooking/notebooking, so each year, I keep 3 ring binders full of these things. They are fun to look back through, which also serves as review for the kids.

I think my main method of record keeping, though, is through photos. I take tons of photos each year. Lately I've been saving them in to folders, labeled for the calendar year, and dividing each year in to months, so I at least know in which month some event took place!

Then, when (and if) I ever have time to do some scrapbooking, I'll be able to do so chronologically. But they are also in a handy location for placing them in to my blog, when I blog about our homeschooling activities, too.

Which brings us to another of my record keeping methods! Blogging! I try not to blog just about the products we get to use and review. I also try to blog about our homeschooling adventures, and our day to day lives in our "agricultural education"!
