This week on the blog cruise, the young'uns get to tell us what they think of homeschooling, etc. Should be some interesting responses to read....perhaps even entertaining! ;)
Our first question: Why Does Your Family Homeschool?
The 17 year old daughter : Because its fun (some times).
The 11 year old boy: I dont know.
And the 8 year old boy: Because we want to.
(Now, with my daughter's response, I am wondering why there seems to be so much grumbling, digging in of heels, and sour attitudes most days, when they are told to get to work on schoolwork! ;) And I guess it is time to go over our reasons for homeschooling yet again, to refresh their memories!! LOL)
Second question: What is your favorite part of homeschooling?
The 17 year old: Learning about all kinds of animals.
The 11 year old: Shredding the scraps of paper left from cutting out lapbook elements.
The 8 year old: Reading about tigers; and learning about Australia by watching videos.
(I'm kind of surprised that none of them, especially the teenager, didn't mention being glad to sleep in!! LOL)
Third, and final, question: What do you want to be when you grow up?
My 17 year old animal-crazy girl: A vet, a zookeeper, or something that has to do with animals.
My 11 year old boy: Pastor, inventor, landscape architect (yes, all three at once!!).
My 8 year old boy: Broadcast engineer where (step)daddy works.
The 17 year old and 11 year old seem to be the steadiest in their decisions of what they hope to some day be, although, "inventor" was just recently added to the 11 year old's repertoire (about the time we studied Ben Franklin!!). The youngest is heavy into the "mimic" stage, wanting to copy everyone!
