What I thought about the book

I know New Orleans, and the area around there. I'll admit, I'm not that crazy about that area (gasp! I know!), but history fascinates me. I found this book very intriguing, and well-researched. Since I do know the area (bayous, swamps, etc., and the levees along the Mississippi), it was easy for me to picture the setting. I also was fascinated with a look at late-1700s midwifery.

If you enjoy history, and the romanticized view of New Orleans (grin), you will enjoy The Mark of the King immensely.
