July Blogging Challenge, Day 5

Today we are to share about our homes.

Where do I call home, and what do I love about where I live?

To be honest, where I live is not really where I call home.

Florida, where my folks live, feels much more like home than where we live. My parents live in the house that my grandparents built way back in the mid-1960s. My brothers and I grew up visiting that home a couple times a year, usually. Many fond memories.

I love it, because it's such a peaceful setting, surrounded by trees, with no neighbors in site. Bird feeders are out for the birds, and are visited nearly-continuously throughout the day. The squirrels take advantage of the feeders, too, and are rather obnoxious.

Do you know where my real home is?

This world is not my home I'm just a-passin' through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore

Oh Lord, You know I have no friend like you
If heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do?
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore

Just over in glory land we'll live eternally
The saints on every hand are shouting victory
Their songs of sweetest praise drift back from heaven's shore
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore

Oh Lord, You know I have no friend like you
If heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do?
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore

Looking forward to that heavenly home, soon. How about you?
