Five Question Friday

Well, I somehow missed posting this yesterday....so I'll just get it posted today. Just pretend it's Friday, okay? ;-)

1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is?

Yes, it's light brown/dark blond. It used to be what my mom called "strawberry blond" but it has gotten darker. There are still reddish highlights. I wish it were more blond, though....

2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants?

Both. We try to plan ahead for hubby's vacation, since he has time-share and we have to reserve our week. But this summer, we probably won't be able to go anywhere, thanks to the rising cost of gas. So, this summer we will definitely be "flying by the seat of our pants"!

3. What is your favorite meal to cook?

This is hard to narrow down! I enjoy cooking, for the most part. Probably my favorite, though, would be haystacks. It's fairly quick and easy to prepare, and each person can prepare their own plate full of deliciousness. ;-)

4. Do you get offended by not receiving thank yous?

Yes and no. I think politeness and manners are important, and I am trying to teach my children such. Proper etiquette is to say "thank you."

One thing that kind of bugs me even more is when someone else expects you to say thank you, and yet they don't say thank you themselves.....

5. How did you meet your best friend?

Sixth grade: We were the only two girls in our class. One of the things that really bonded us was our equal love for animals. Even though we are no longer in touch, I still consider her one of the best friends I ever had.

My best friend from high school: She and I were roommates our junior year. We have remained close friends ever since. I look forward to seeing her in a few weeks at our 30th class reunion!

My most recent best friend, I met at a ladies' tea. She gave a devotional talk. I discovered she was a homeschooling mom, too. So later, I took my kids to the church she attends, and found a wonderful little church, full of young people for my kids. Several of the families in that church homeschooled, too....in fact, the church even has a wonderful homeschooling resource library! My youngest two kids became best friends with her youngest two kids. Sometimes our hearts ache from missing them....

  1. I saw you came in behind me; I'm also pretending it's Friday for blogging sake. I enjoyed reading your responses and have to agree on the "thank you" notes one.

    Have a great weekend!
