No, didn't give anything up for Lent while growing up. Won't be giving anything up for Lent this year.
How were you first introduced to God?
I don't really know. I was privileged with being raised in a Christian home, attending church and Sabbath school every Sabbath. So, I guess you could say I was first introduced to God when I was "still in the cradle." I was also blessed with the opportunity to attend church school all the way through 12th grade.

Attending church school would definitely give you a more foundational understanding of your faith than those of us that didn't. Having worked at a Christian school, I believe students are more grounded when they are taught from that worldview. No Lent, huh? Up till this time, I'd always viewed it almost like a game. Can I give up something for 40 days? This time, I'm hoping to make a spiritual connection rather than just reaching a goal.
