Daniel
February found Daniel working on a couple of fun books: Hannah's Cold Winter and Albert.
Hannah's Cold Winter is set during World War II; it is about the hippos in the zoo in Budapest, Hungary, and how the people of Budapest collected all their straw hats, slippers, floor mats, and took them to the zoo to feed the hungry hippos. We used the book to launch a unit study on World War II, and to study hippos and zoos.
Albert is about a pair of cardinals, who build their nest and raise their babies. So we studied cardinals, among other things.
Daniel also helped with yardwork, housework, and many other things. No doctor appointments or anything like that for this healthy boy!
