Happy birthday, Teenager!

Sunday my boy turned 14. (Did I just type that?!) It is so hard to believe!

This year, we weren't able to do much at all for his birthday, due to finances. I feel so badly about that!

The children's and my usual form of celebration is:
  • Birthday person chooses menu for the day
  • Birthday person receives gifts at breakfast
  • Birthday person (usually) gets to have the day off from chores and school
  • Birthday person gets to choose what videos we watch

It doesn't always work out that way. This year was one of those times.

The birthday menu he wanted: breakfast pizza; veggie pizza for lunch; fruit pizza for supper. In reality, it turned out to be eggs and toast for breakfast; lasagna and salad for lunch; and apple slices with peanut butter for supper (because that's what we already had on hand).

Oh, and birthday cake.

We did watch a couple videos for "school." And I know he watched several videos of his choosing on his Kindle Fire, too.

Oh, and his gift (which, in actuality, he received early).
