“Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.” - Frederick Douglass
As we all know, learning to read is an important skill for children. When learning can be fun, I think that's a big bonus! Reading Eggs is an online world where children learn to read. It supports each child’s learning by offering individual, one-on-one lessons that allow children to progress at their own rate.
With interactive animations, fun games, great songs and lots of rewards, Reading Eggs is a great place to learn to read. Children are highly motivated to return again and again. At Reading Eggs, learning to read is enjoyable as well as very rewarding. Every lesson ends with a new book and a new critter to add to your growing collection.
The Reading Eggs activities are specially designed for ages 3-7. My developmentally-delayed 9 year old is enjoying them immensely, though. There is also a more advanced level, specifically for 7-12 years old, called Reading Eggspress, to encourage reading fluency.

Reading Eggs focuses on the concepts of phonics and sight words. Fun activities within each lesson provide the repetition needed for these skills to become part of the child’s long term memory. And your child can go at his/her own pace.
