Goals at Rossmont for 2011-2012 School Year

Our first topic for this year's TOS Blog Cruise, and I'm about to miss the deadline! Yikes! ;)

The topic for this week's Blog Cruise is: What are your homeschool related goals for the year?

Top of the list: Teen Girl is a Senior this year! So our main goal is finishing up her high school credits, preparing her for graduation next spring, and all of that.

She has already "checked out" a nearby by community college. Later this month, we hope to check out Southern Adventist University, in Tennessee. She will also be taking the ACT at the Seventh-day Adventist boarding academy here in our state. She has a couple other colleges/universities we'd like for her to have to opportunity to "check out"...if we are able to make it happen. She also needs to start filling out applications, etc.

Goals for the boys: just keep "plugging away" at what we are doing--Five in a Row/Beyond Five in a Row, and making improvements in math, reading and handwriting.

For all of them, I'd like to cover more art and music history/appreciation. Teach them more skills around the house, especially in the kitchen. And learn more about our little farm, and the livestock we have and animal husbandry.

Most important, though, I would like to spend far more time focusing on developing our relationships with the Lord, and preparing for His soon return. We see all around is, the signs of His coming and fulfillment of prophecy.

May we each be ready, and help our families to be ready! Pin It Now!

  2. Congratulations on the almost-graduate! I will have a freshman next year, and I have to admit I am nervous!
