The Homeschool Mother's Journal~8

How exciting! I'm actually getting this posted when I have been wanting to: on Saturday! ;)

In my life this week...

Been trying not to feel stressed over the thought of the possibility of selling the house and moving. But I must admit, my innards are churning anyway....

Placed a somewhat small order with Rainbow Resource. Teen Girl is needing the next Life of Fred math book already; ordered a few other things as well.

In our homeschool this week...

Little Bit and I finished up the Hoppin' Popcorn Download N Go, and started Kite Capers. The boys have continued enjoying their online school programs, too.

Places we're going and people we're seeing...

Tuesday, therapy.

Thursday morning, Teenager and I made another attempt at getting his license. The "red tape" is just plain frustrating!! At least this time we got a few more answers of what we need to do...Now to come up with the time and money to get it accomplished!

Thursday evening, Teen Girl and I went to the Teen Movie Night with the homeschool group. We saw The Bee Movie. It was fun, even though we had already seen the movie.

My favorite thing this week was...

I think was spending some one on one time with each of my teenagers. I know I don't have many of those opportunities left, especially with my oldest. So, I really treasure them when they happen!

What's working/not working for us...

Not a whole lot of "book learning" is happening for Botanist Boy right now. He is accomplishing more hands-on, vocational type stuff right now. I'm trying to figure out what kind of unit study I can get him interested in doing....

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...

Why am I feeling so pressured about "school"? I'm wanting learning to be fun and enjoyable (and I thought I was offering them fun topics/activities, etc....), but Botanist Boy seems to be really balking at everything I try to get him to do....

Now, with the possible prospect of moving, I'm feeling pressured to start sorting, packing, etc., and yet feeling like we cannot afford to take time from school to do so.....

A photo, video, link, or quote to share...

Pond behind a house that would be nice to buy....if it didn't cost so much, and need so much work done on it. It has 20 acres, mostly wooded! It's nice to dream!

And in light of the earthquake/tsunami in Japan:

"And there will be great earthquakes in various places ... the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear and the expectation of those things that are coming upon the earth ... When you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near...Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means .........pass away." Prediction made by Jesus Christ. Recorded in Luke 21:11,25,26,31,33. Pin It Now!

  1. I'm glad you got to spend some extra time with your children. And, thanks for mentioning that Rainbow Resource sells Fred books. I'm thinking about buying some more! ;)
