Holiday Bliss 2010--December 19

Today I could talk about several things...and I probably will end up doing that!

Yesterday we had our family Christmas celebration: hubby, the kids and I. Christmas Eve day, three of the kids and I will be heading for Texas, to spend a week with my folks, my brothers and their families. And my step daughter's brother and his family arrived last evening to spend some time (he will be deployed sometime the beginning of 2011). So, yesterday was our one day for Christmas, the 7 of us.

Some of us went to church: my daughter, and the two youngest boys and I. After we got back home, we had our "Christmas Dinner".

Friday was such a dismal day, weather-wise, which always affects my energy level, so I really didn't do the meal preparations I had wanted to (like, making a chocolate pie, or meatloaf for the carnivores, etc.). Hubby wanted spaghetti, anyway....with the tomato-less spaghetti sauce I make. So, we had Harvest Nut Roast for those of us who are vegetarian and spaghetti and tomato-less meat sauce for the carnivores, and veggies. But, hey! We were together!! ;)

After kitchen cleanup, came present time!! ....The kids' favorite time of the season! LOL

Then in the evening, we went to Reflections of the Season in Port Allen. It was pretty; it was cold; it was fun to spend time together as a family. I got very aggrevated with my camera, though! It wouldn't take pictures when I wanted it to!! :p But here are a few:

Today is our anniversary, so we are spending time celebrating that today.

So, I guess today, my holiday bliss is: Time with family! Just enjoying each other; enjoying the season; and praising God for bringing us together as family....

  1. The best part of the celebration is being together, and it looks like you had a wonderful time. The display of lights is very pretty, too.
