Don't you love meeting new authors?

I am helping my daughter get started on her school work. She is using Where the Brook and River Meet, which is a unit study based on the Anne of Green Gables. We already "love" Anne, so we look forward to this year with this study.

The creator of the unit study has set up reading contracts, to help the student choose what books to read for what grade they which to earn. Well, one of her suggestions for the literature category was what she called a "Pansy" book.

Well, I had never heard of this! So I had to search on the Web (oh, how dreadful! ;-) ). I searched by author: Isabella MacDonald Alden. This led me to a beautiful, very Victorian, website: The Pansy. What fun it is to explore it! And one thing that is awesome, Mrs. MacDonald was Grace Livingston Hill's aunt!!
