This past week, my daughter has been in Branson, MO, with my parents, my brother & his family, and some of his in-laws. My brother has a daughter, and my sil's brother (who was with them) has 3 girls. So it was a real treat for Jennifer to spend a week or so with 4 other girls--and no brothers!!
They did a lot of different activities: Mansfield and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, an aquarium, a train ride, Silver Dollar City (and the cave there). I'm not sure yet what all they did, but I hope to hear all about it when my daughter gets home!
One thing I did hear about was the stormy weather last weekend! I read about it online, Monday evening. So, I started worrying (yes, I know we aren't supposed to worry, but....). I didn't sleep well Monday night. I asked on the Five in a Row message boards if anyone knew how close the tornado activity was to Branson.
To my relief, Tuesday morning someone responded, saying that nothing had come very close. And my dad "finally" called Tuesday mornig, too, while I was gone to Mommy and Me with my little guys.
Then I talked to my mom on the phone Thursday. She told me about Sunday night (I think it was). There was a tornado warning out, so they took all five girls to the basement unit, and had them sitting on the bathroom floor. But Jennifer was petrified! (She has watched too many programs about natural disasters, thanks to her big brother!!!) Mom said she was crying, and clinging to my mom. I wasn't there for her to cling to.--Talk about piercing a mother's heart!!
My brother shared this photo with me!
But God watched over them, and kept them safe! And Jennifer has been having the time of her life with her cousin! She told me today that she really hasn't missed her brothers--well, except Steven! LOL! And she has missed her mommy!
