TOS Review: GoGo KaBongo

Do you have young children in your home school, who are ready to begin developing reading skills? If so, here is an online world of brain-boosting games to assist in that development.

GoGo Kabongo is a fun, educational website designed for ages 4-7. We have been spending the past several weeks playing the fun games in the three different habitats.

What is GoGo Kabongo? And what does it have to offer?

  • Builds the thinking skills kids need to read

  • Games adapt to your child's level, inspiring confidence

  • Interactive rewards keep kids playing & learning

  • Designed by cognitive psychologists & learning experts

From the website:

Kids learn best by learning to think. And they learn even better when they are doing something they love. These are the ideas that drive Kabongo, a developer and publisher of online reading games for kids. Created by a father and cognitive psychologist, Kabongo’s exciting reading games for preschool children cultivate the thinking skills that underlie reading, inspiring self-confidence through the joy of play.

Here is a snapshot of the Learning Skills Chart:

Little Bit has been having so much fun with the games on this site. Sometimes it loads rather slowly, which frustrates him a little. Even though these games are designed more for ages 4-7, and Little Bit is nearly 9, with his developmental delays, he is somewhat more like a 7 year old. He didn't seem to feel they were too "young" for him, or below his level. He just has fun playing games! It is one of the first things he does each morning.

I just want to alert my readers to the fact that this program is a beta program.  They are still working out some of the kinks and glitches typical to the new product phase .  However, having said that, Little Bit seemed to really enjoyed this, and I would recommend it for use for my friends who have young children.

The first habitat, Laughter Lake, is available for free. Additional habitats are offered at an introductory price of $4.95 each, with no subscription fees ever.
