TOS Review: Amazing Animals by Design

One of our favorite topics around here is animals (in case you can't tell! ;-) ). I'll have to admit, though, trips to the zoo don't happen as often as we'd like! Here's a book that will inspire such a trip!

Why is a giraffe's neck so tall? Why do zebras have stripes? Did all of these things happen by accident? When John and Sarah visit the zoo, they ask these questions and many more. Their parents and the zookeepers keep using the word design, but what does that mean? With its relevant message and exciting presentation, this is the perfect book to help introduce children to intelligent design. Come find out in Amazing Animals by Design by Debra Haagen!
Amazing Animals by Design is a newly published book for children, talking about some of the amazing features with which God created animals. The author, Debra Haagen, is also a member of the TOS Homeschool Crew!

We received the digital version, which I was able to load on to my Kindle Fire. Little Bit enjoys looking at the lovely illustrations as I read it to him; we all do, actually!

One of our favorite animals to learn more about was the Caracal. We learned that it catches birds by leaping in to the air, backwards, knocking the birds down that way!

Then a few days ago, on one of the boys' favorite PBS shows, they talked about the Caracal! We found that quite exciting, and immediately the connection was made to Debra's book! One of my favorite things about homeschooling, how "life" matches up with "school"!

I also like the reminder that God specially designed these animals for special purposes. Not only that, He specially designed each of us for an extra special purpose, too. My children need to hear that often!

I think I just may have to purchase a print copy of this book, for Little Bit. He has a birthday coming up in a couple months, and I am sure he'd like his own copy, which he can hold in his own hands!

You can purchase your 24-page print copy for $8.99, or digital download for $7.99.
